We are happy to add soulman Xantoné Blacq to our artist roster. Xan Blacq is known as Amy Winehouse's keyboarder and bandleader! He is currently finishing his next album. We are preparing a CD release tour for the upcoming fall. Pat Appleton's first CD in German language De-Phazz and Bahama Soul Club singer Pat Appleton is finishing her her first album with German lyrics! Let us know if you wish to listen to the brandnew songs. Pat will go on CD Release Tour from September on. What is Brazilian Bluegrass? We had never heard about it before, but it immediately thrilled us: Check out Matuto in the WORLD CROSSOVER part of the artist section. We will let you know shortly the next touring plans! CD Release Tour: "Retro" by Friedman/Weniger We are delighted to announce the CD release of two outstanding jazz musicians: David Friedman and Peter Weniger. "Retro" has become a wonderful album, very tasteful and sensitive. We are booking now the CD release concerts for October, November and December. February 2010 Forro in the dark on tour with Gogol Bordello Forro in the dark will tour with Gogol Bordello and Mariachi El Bronx in Europe! For the live dates click here. Paweł Kaczmarczyk won the most important Polish Jazz Awards! The poll results of Polish magazine Jazz Forum for 2009 have been published: Paweł Kaczmarczyk has been voted as Pianist of The Year and his album “Complexity in Simplicity” (ACT) has achieved the titel Album of The Year. More info and upcoming concerts here! January 2010 The Red House wishes a Happy New Year 2010! We are currently booking the summer tours for Kevin Johansen + The Nada. His tour his tour will be part of the promotional campaign of Argentina which will be Guest of Honor of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2010. October 2009 Fetsum - New Artist in our Roster With WOMEX just around the corner, we managed to add an outstanding, upcoming artist to our roster: Fetsum! 'Urban Folk' is what he calls his music, combining elements of Soul, Rhythm & Blues, Jazz and Reggae. Fetsum has been opening for Grammy-Award winner Estelle's Berlin show. Germany's shooting star and ECHO-Award winner Peter Fox invited Fetsum to open two concerts, amoung them the prestigious Stimmen Festival. Reggae star Patrice invited him to support last year’s tour. And Fetsum was not only part of German chart breaker Cassandra Steen's band, he opened all shows of the 2009 fall tour and received excellent response from both, critics and audience. Fetsum's album 'Colors of Hope' will be recorded this winter in Patrice's Supow Studio and will be released next year. Kevin Johansen + The Nada We are happy to announce that Kevin Johansen, bilingual singer/songwriter from Argentina has decided to continue his collaboration with The Red House. After we did his first succesful tour in mid Europe in 2006 (i.e. Stimmen Festival, Pohoda Festival, Horizonte Festival), Kevin Johansen + The Nada will be back in Europe for a festival gigs in July 2010. This tour will be part of the promotional campaign of Argentina which will be Guest of Honor of the Frankfurt Book Fair 2010. MILK & JADE by Dana Leong Dana Leong, electro-jazz cellist/composer/trombonist Dana Leong fuses hip-hop, jazz and electronics to create a signature boundless sound. Dana, Asian American artist of Chinese and Japanese descent, based in New York, heads the exciting quartet MILK & JADE feat. Aviv Cohen (drums), Adam Platt (keyboards), and MC Mtume Gant a.k.a. Forro in the dark will perform at WOMAD Festival The prestigious WOMAD Festival has invited New Yorks' hip brazil-indie band Forro in the dark to perform at the Canary Islands in November. The band will tour in Europe from end of October until mid November. They will present their new album "Light a Candle" in many European countries. New Project: Crossing Crossing is a new intercultural, intercontinental band project of two internationally renowned jazz musicians: New Yorican David Friedman (vibraphone, marimba) and Peter Weniger (saxophone) from Berlin. Both, major figures in contemporary jazz, have established a new band with Colombian composer and percussionst Samuel Torres, who is known in Europe mainly as sideman of Richard Bona and Lila Downs. After two amazing concerts in Hamburg and Berlin, the new band will be available for further live gigs from now on. For details go to artists or contact us! |

New Artists at The Red House Pat Appleton & Band We are happy to announce our collaboration with Pat Appleton, singer of Germany's wellknown nu-jazz collective De-Phazz and songwriter and guest singer for other bands such as Jazzkantine, Nighthawks or the Bahama Soul Club. Pat Appleton is currently working on her second album. She is available for live shows with her own band. Kristi Stassinopoulou With Kristi Stassinopoulou and her musical partner Stathis Kalyviotis we could add a very fascinating artist to our roster. Being active in Greece's underground music scene for many years, Kristi and Stathis have generated a wide appeal in the international world music circuit. They are available with their live band, including traditional greek and oriental instruments as well as electronic sounds.
